is devastatingly good…Jones’ accent, tone, gestures, movements articulating Scuts inner and outer worlds. In truth, words fall short when describing Jones’ impeccable performance. Which is a joy and a privilege to behold, and might yet prove to be the performance of the Festival. Excellently written, exceptionally well directed, with a performance from Jones that’s simply out of this world
Sunday Independent Review 08/10/2023
playwright Eugene O’Brien has succeeded admirably in concocting a fantasy that’s utterly credible with Falling to Earth: My Summer with Bowie.
It’s quite beautifully written and equally beautifully (and energetically) played by Stephen Jones. Between writer and actor, the characters in the fantasy are fully three dimensional and come alive as the Man Who Fell to Earth falls to earth for the last time in the shadows of an Irish bog.
Irish Independent
A terrific performance by Stephen Jones lights up this eloquent new solo play by Eugene O’Brien. So this is a play about hero worship and the redeeming power of art. This is daring work from O’Brien….Jones skilfully teases out this complex material.
The Irish Times
At the heart of all this lies the tremendous performance of Jones….a captivating one-man show brought to life by Jones’ vivid performance that is entertaining.

It’s a warm and funny portrayal of life in small-town Ireland, that shows these individuals warts and all. Stephen Jones puts great energy into the script and makes the character of Scut his own.
